On the last day of December in 2022, the streets of Sóller were in a state of silent siesta. The only sounds were footsteps, wind gusts, and the occasional car—barreling over intricately placed stones and uneven pavement.

Inhabited since 4,000 BC, Soller and its kingdom of oranges was a refuge for pre-Talayotic, Talayotic, Roman, Muslim, and Christian settlers—the remains of which are still preserved and felt today.
