Detroit was a boomtown. An icon of ingenuity. In the 1950s, it was one of the wealthiest cities in the world. A place of its own making, Detroit was pieced together like the vanadium steel frame of a Model T. It’s an integral part of American history. It’s been beaten down, only to rise again.
