Caryatids of Erechtheion

from $50.00

The six Caryatids of Erechtheion serve as columns on the south porch of the Erechtheion on the Acropolis of Athens. Carved from Pentelic marble, they are among the finest examples of Greek sculpture. Dressed in peplos and with long hair gathered in a bun, the women stand in sandals, bearing baskets on their heads—offerings to the gods.
